Thames Coast Community Kindergarten is an independent community-run kindergarten situated in the small coastal village of Te Puru, 12kms north of Thames. Originally established by local families we have been operating for over 30 years. 

 

The kindergarten is a non-profit early childhood service managed by a volunteer parent committee. 

 

We are the only early childhood centre in a 50 km stretch from Thames to Coromandel Town on the Coromandel Peninsula. We are a core service in our area; not just for education, but also as a place where families get to know one another and establish friendships that strengthen our small community. Because we are independent, we can tailor our services as much as possible to the local community’s wishes and we ensure our services and facilities reflect the needs and values of our whanau and wider community.​​​​​
